The build starts here.
May 2024. Mott Community College, Flint Michigan.
It started with the Factory Five Build School - Hot Rod class. In 3 days, the class of 15 students with 2 experienced instructors build a full ’33 Hot Rod kit from Factory Five. The goal of the class for Brokart Racing was to make sure it was an attainable project (without getting into a quagmire that went on for years taking up valuable garage space for other projects).
The project was tedious, but not difficult! Along the way we amassed a ton of tips from the instructors that corrected omissions or provided better build methods for a given system than the kit’s instructions. In the next couple of blog posts we’ll outline what those are. Some are more elaborate and detailed than others based on the number of tips and changes to take into consideration.
Lets just skip to the end and say, the class was amazing. The car was bad ass. It’s definitely a project Brokart Racing will be taking on. In fact within a week of class we ordered a 33 Hot Rod kit! It’s coming in late July 2024 and when it does, the build will be chronicled right here. Meanwhile there is a coming series of blog posts that outline the best of the class.
